technology is successful on its first ever field test in an Austin chalk
horizontal well north of Bryan, TX. Slider used a robotic interface to control
rig's hydraulic power swivel.
Sep 2003 Slider
begins a field testing program with Anadarko in Texas.
Dec 2003 Slider, LLC
is founded by Dr. Eric Maidla & Dr. Marc Haci, inventors of Slider,
automated directional drilling technology.
Apr 2004 Agreement
between Slider, LLC and Noble Drilling is signed granting exclusive rights of
the technology to Slider, LLC.
May 2004 Slider
successfully completes first offshore application of the technology for Chevron
controlling a hydraulic top drive with robots while drilling a directional well
in Gulf of Mexico.
May 2004 Chevron asks
Slider to develop an interface for Electric Top drives.
July 2004
Slider receives orders from Anadarko & Talisman to apply the
technology in Canada.
Dec 2004 Electric Top
Drive interface is developed and installed for Chevron offshore GoM.
Jan 2005 Slider installs
two units for Anadarko in British Columbia in Canada.
Feb 2005 Slider is
successfully used while drilling a GoM directional well. Excellent tool-face
and weight control is noted. The well reaches target depth of 13,350'.
Mar 2005 Slider
develops the electrical interface Slider to replace earlier mechanical robotic
systems.
Apr 2005 First set of
electrical interface Slider units is deployed in Canada for Anadarko and
Talisman. Other operator's are beginning to test the technology.
Apr 2005 Slider signs
a non-exclusive joint marketing and service agreement with Tesco.
May 2005 Slider in
cooperation with IDR, directional drilling service company, installs 3 more
units offshore GoM for Chevron. The units are installed on Jack up rigs with
Electric Top Drives.
July 2005
Talisman extends the implementation of the technology. Slider is
installed on 3 deep gas drilling rigs.
Aug 2005 Slider
delivers units to Tesco for joint deployment.
Nov 2005 Devon starts
using the Slider technology in SAGD horizontal drilling. EnCana begins with UBD
horizontal drilling program in Canada.
Dec 2005 More GoM
offshore rigs are equipped with the Slider interface including first deep-water
semi-submersible.
Feb 2006 Slider
reaches another landmark. It has interfaced with all major top drive and power
swivel brands used in the oil and gas drilling.
Mar 2006 Number of
directional driller's trained on Slider technology using Slider's physical
simulator reaches 50.
May 2006 Slider
technology is being used by a major CBM operator to drill multi-lateral
horizontal wells.
Jul 2006 Fortuna selects Slider technology for
slimhole re-entry project in the Rockies. 2 3/8" & 2 7/8" tapered
drillstring is rocked in deep kick-off horizontal well.
Oct 2006 Slider passes 100 wells mark since
introduction of the technology.
