SLIDER TECHNOLOGY

Slider is a patented surface automation tool that improves the efficiency of conventional downhole motor/mwd directional systems. Slider, LLC is granted worldwide exclusive licence of this technology from Noble Drilling. Slider is a torque control system consisting hardware and software. It works over the pipe rotation equipment of drilling rigs such as top drives, power swivels or SCR driven rotary tables.

Slider, in addition to automatic rocking (turning pipe to right and left), has introduced a number unique features to drastically improve directional drilling performance while slide drilling;

rotate-to-slide on-bottom
bumping to correct tool-face while sliding
dynamic torque rocking, adjusted real-time to compensate for motor reactive torque

These improvements help directional drillers perform sliding tasks. The field tests have shown that the rates of penetration can be increased between 60% to 200% for estimated savings of 11% to 23% of total well costs.

The technology provides any downhole motor/ mwd system with competitive cost advantages with applications in directional, horizontal and deep vertical well drilling operations without adding any equipment downhole.
